Professor Chen, Yuelai, Doctor of Acupuncture and Massage from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chief physician, (no.07J0040762), professor. Current doctoral tutor of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Executive vice president of the Graduate School of Shanghai University of Chinese Medicine. Part-time Director of Association of Chinese Graduate Education. Part-time Deputy Managing Director Association of Graduate Education in China Association of Chinese Medicine. Part-time Vice President of Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine Evidence-Based Medicine Committee. Professor Chen has long been engaged in the clinical and basic research of Chinese Med-cine in the treatment of Voiding dysfunction. In the past few years, professor Chen has in charged 8 federal research projects and more than 20 municipal research projects. As the inventor of the technology, he created the third federal diagnosis and treatment technology of the Ministry of Health and three Shanghai municipal Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment extension technologies. As the first person in charge, Professor Chen received 6 provincial science technology awards, finished 12 research projects, published 6 monographs, and more than 70 academic papers.
Topic 1: Acupuncture Treatment for Voiding Dysfunction
The incidence of urinary dysfunction disease is extensive and can affect the quality of life of patients seriously. The prevalence rate of OAB over the age of 40 in China is 11.3% , women shown more prevalence than men, and tend to be more frequent with age. Acupuncture and moxibustion has been one of the effective methods to treat urinary disorders since ancient times. Professor Chen Yuelai’s team has in-depth research on acupuncture treatment of voiding dysfunction, and published a journal on JAMA in 2017:Effect of electroacupuncture on urinary leakage among women with stress urinary incontinence a randomized clinical trial.
Topic 2: Acupuncture treatment of male sexual dysfunction
Male sexual dysfunction is an important factor affecting the quality of life in men.The prevalence rate of male erectile dysfunction within 40-70 years old in US is 52% at 2011. Acupuncture treatment of male sexual dysfunction shown a good effect and characteristics, Professor Chen Yuelai has rich clinical experience and significant clinical efficacy on treating erectile dysfunction by utilizing acupuncture.
Gao, Hongmei, L.Ac. , graduated from the Department of Acupuncture at Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1992. She spent many years working as a resident physician at a Western medicine hospital in China at internal medicine and emergency department. Then she studied computer science in Canada. After obtaining a California license in 2008, she runs her own clinic. She is good at applying computer knowledge and skills to clinic management, and has rich experience in insurance electronic filing, writing of electronic medical records, registration of front desk patient information, classification, billing and appointments. She also participated in the OfficeAlly 2017 annual conference at her own expense and learned a lot about the new features and new information of the company’s powerful tools.
